The board where you can connect all components of a computer
Functions of Motherboard :
- 1. It holds all components of a computer.
- 2. It distributes power to all components through tracks.
- 3. It transfers data from one device to other devices through tracks with the help of control chips.
2. RAM ( Random Access Memory ):
- It is a temporary storage Device.
- RAM is acting as an Interface between processor and other Peripherals.
- NOTE: If the RAM Chip is not Inserted Properly or RAM Chip is not working then PC is Dead Condition
3. Video / VGA Card:
- Video card is an output card.
- It has 15pin ( 3rows ) female connector with blue color.
- It is used for connecting Monitor.
- NOTE : Now a days Motherboard have onboard / built Video card.
4. SMPS ( Switch Mode Power Supply ):
- SMPS converts AC ( Alternating Current ) 230V to DC ( Direct Current ) ( +5V, -5V, +12V, -12V and +3.3V )
- SMPS supplies power to all devices ( motherboard, FDD, HDD and CD-ROM drive etc...).
