Creating Logical Drives in the Extended Partition & Types of File System

  •  Open "Disk Management"
  • Right click on "Free Space" -click on "New Logical Drive"
  • Click "Next"
  • Select the Radio Button "Logical Drive" - Click "Next"
  • Type Logical Drive Size in MB - Click "Next"
  • Automatically It will Assign Drive Letter - Click "Next"
  • Select the File System FAT/FAT32/NTFS - Click "Next"
  • Click on "Finish"

Types of File System

FAT16:
  • FAT stands for File Allocation Table 
  • All Microsoft family O .Ss (From MSDOS to Windows7) support FAT16
  • FAT16 supports maximum partition size is 2GB (In Windows 98)
  • FAT16 supports maximum partition size 4GB (from Windows NT to Windows7)
FAT32:
  • FAT stands for File Allocation Table
  • All Microsoft families O.S$ (From Windows98 to Windows7) supports FAT32
  • FAT32 Supports maximum partition size is 32GB
  • You can convert FAT16/FAT32 NTFS file system with out loss data.
NTFS:
  • NTFS stands for New Technology File System
  • NTFS supported by Windows NT to Windows 10.Ss
  • NTFS has more security features like File and Directory Permissions, File Encrypting and Disk Quota
  • NTFS supports maximum partition size is 54TB
